blog 000 February 13, 2006Posted by taylor in Uncategorized.
yesterday i made my decision to finally start a semi-regular 12k blog. i’ve been meaning to do this for a while for a few of reasons. one, i think many listeners may find interest in some of the behind-the-scenes workings of 12k, to see what goes right and what goes wrong as i push the label forward into its tenth year. secondly, the blog will serve as a source for upcoming news and information as it comes to me, before it hits 12k’s newsletter or front page. (for example, i just confirmed with Keiichi Sugimoto the other day for a new Fourcolor cd for May of this year). i’ll probably write about things as they happen; ideas for releases that may, or may not, ever see the light of day (don’t take everything you read in these pages to be set in stone). it will also serve as a place to report on live show or tours, and with pictures, too. (for those who are paying attention, the BLOG link has replaced the GALLERY link (which never came to be) in the main navigation bar on the website). lastly, and most important to me on a personal level, i’ve been meaning to keep a journal of my music career for over 12 years now, and these blog entries will somewhat serve to be just that. better late than never, i suppose.
i’ll try to keep the entries short and write them on a regular basis. i will also keep the information contained herein relating to things 12k, as a result, i can’t guarantee there will be an entry every day as every day does not always contain a newsworthy event and, quite frankly, as yet another thing to put on my to-do list there will be days i simply just don’t have time to write.
so, with that said… welcome, and please feel free to let us know what you think of the 12k blog. oh, and one more bit of news. i have finished writing my upcoming solo cd, to be released in april (on 12k.. my first since Stil. in 2002). It is called Northern and i am in the final editing and mixing stages now. a big thank you to kenneth kirschner for allowing me to bounce rough mixes off of him. if all goes well, despite the flood in the studio, this album will only be one or two months later than planned.
