i spent this past long weekend in the Catskills Mountains in upstate New York in a tent, camping on a lake. the sounds were amazing. deep frogs at night, birds i’ve never heard, wind, waterfalls, rain, fire… unfortunately, the first night i turned on my sound recorder… it failed to work or turn on the rest of the 4 days. i suppose the cold weather zapped the battery from full to nothing in a few hours.. i’m not sure, but it’s a huge disappointment. the sounds i missed were really great.

now that i’m back i’ve had a chance to plug the recorder into a computer and confirm that, at least, it’s still functioning.

technology failed me this weekend, but at least my ears did not.
